Thursday,
December 10th - Christmas Social Evening- 7:00 pm
Just a reminder that
this Thursday, Dec 10 will be our Xmas Social and an
added bonus will be a visit from the Northern Fly
Fisherman so you can buy all those stocking stuffers
your loved ones forgot to get you. Everyone is
encouraged to bring some sort of appetizer to the
meeting to share. I will leave it to your
imagination as to what to bring but in previous
years we have had smoked fish, deer sausage and
veggies with dip. So make sure you don't eat too
much for supper otherwise you won't be able to fully
enjoy what is brought.
The evening will start
off with some short but pretty exciting routine club
business. Come out and find out about the summer
fishing trip and the plans for the fish management
plan.
NET
BUILDING
Dennis Dymond has graciously
volunteered to once again oversee the building of a landing
net. This is an excellent opportunity to build a quality
landing net at a very reasonable price. To purchase a
similar net would start at $90 and upwards. The net
being built is designed for the fish in the local waters
and with the handle length necessary for fishing from a boat
or float tube. Your cost is $25 and will involve some
elbow grease at home. Presently we are able to form or
glue 2 nets a meeting so it is important to know exactly how
many members want to build nets. This will allow Dennis to
purchase sufficient material and schedule building nights.
If you are interested in building a net for dry fly
fishing, this can be arranged as well.
If members are interested in
this project respond via e-mail with the word NET
in the subject line no latter than November 2 to the
following address:
nwff@nwf.ca (If you are
still thinking about it, talk to Denis - he may still have
room or you.)
